Clotrimazole Impurity 6(Clotrimazole EP Impurity F) - Introduction
1-Trityl-1H-imidazole(1-Phenylmethylimidazole) is an organic compound with the molecular formula C16H14N2. Its nature is as follows:
1. Appearance: white crystalline powder;
2. Solubility: Soluble in most organic solvents, such as Alcohols, Ketones and esters;
3. Melting Point: about 119-123 degrees Celsius;
4. Stability: relatively stable at room temperature, but easy to oxidize under sunlight.
The main uses of 1-tritym-1h-imidazole include:
1. Photosensitizer: because of its chemical structure containing benzene ring, can be used as a light capturing agent, used in printing, photography and photosensitive materials and other fields;
2. Corrosion inhibitor: can be used in anti-corrosion coatings and anti-rust oil, play a role in inhibiting metal corrosion.
1-Trityl-1H-imidazole usually has a variety of synthesis methods, one of which is a common method is the reaction of benzaldehyde and imidazole in the presence of a catalyst (such as a base) to generate 1-Trityl-1H-imidazole.
Note the following safety information when using 1-Trityl-1H-imidazole:
1. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, avoid inhalation or swallowing;
2. Use should wear personal protective equipment, including gloves and goggles, etc;
3. Use in a well-ventilated area to avoid prolonged contact;
4. In case of accidental contact or inhalation, rinse immediately with clean water and seek medical assistance;
5. Storage should be sealed, away from the fire and oxidant.
